Earthworks

Bulk earthworks and civil engineering earthworks

Earth moving and contracting for civil engineers, main contractors, quarrying operators and cement companies. We work to a bill of quantities and re-measure, or on day work.

Crushing & recycling

Contract crushing and recycled aggregates

Contract crushing and screening for construction customers, using the latest equipment. We are pleased to quote for small works lasting a few days through to the largest projects lasting several years.

We have invested in specialised recycling plant for secondary aggregates, supplied to the construction industry. Several grades of:

  • Crushed concrete
  • Crushed tarmac
  • Screened topsoil
  • Blinding sands

D H Loveday was already a long established Hertfordshire company supplying local customers with aggregates when we acquired it in 2006. Covering sand, ballast, shingle, cement and top quality topsoil, for quick delivery by tipper or smaller vehicle, or collect from the Bovingdon yard.

Lime & soil testing

Lime spreading, soil testing and GPS spreading

Expert soil testing and, where appropriate, a lime recommendation. All the lime we supply is produced at our own quarries, so the quality and supply stay under our control.

We offer a quick and friendly service to all of our customers.

From lime to the home counties

  1. The start

    Supplying lime to farmers, on a much smaller scale. We still have direct links with agriculture today.

  2. Early years

    Two quarries, producing agricultural lime, chalk for cement manufacture and various grades of rubble.

  3. 2006

    Acquired D H Loveday, a long established Hertfordshire aggregates company.

  4. In more recent years

    Further quarries were acquired. Our largest quarry is at Pitstone, on the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire border, and covers about 100 acres.

  5. Today

    Quarrying, heavy plant, machine hire, aggregate sales, road haulage and construction, based at a 200 acre farm in South Buckinghamshire.
